App Centric Computing - Impact on Your IT

Your business is transforming.  Your organization is creating new business models, and accelerating its speed to market. Your employees are mobile, global, and driven to outpace your nearest competitor.  You have an opportunity to enable this transformation by delivering secure, anywhere access to applications, regardless of whether they are located – on-premises, in a private cloud, or in a public cloud environment. Key question: What do You need to successfully run applications in this new environment – today and tomorrow?

An Application delivery controllers (ADCs) are purpose-built networking appliances whose function is to improve the performance, security and resiliency of applications delivered over the web. It is a device typically placed in a data center between the firewall and one or more application servers (an area known as the DMZ). First-generation application delivery controllers primarily performed application acceleration and handled load balancing between servers. The latest generation of application delivery controllers handles a much wider variety of functions, including rate shaping and SSL offloading, as well as serving as a Web application firewall.
