Linux, Open Source and Security


We live in an increasingly dynamic and changing world, which dictates that we constantly have to adopt the way we live and work. Technology as an integral part of our daily routines provides us with many benefits but also bring new challenges, especially when it comes to managing and securing ever increasing amount of digital data that we produce. Computers in all forms and sizes, weather it be desktop pc's, servers, notebooks, mobile phones, embedded devices, medical aids and many others surround us and help us improve quality of living. Many of these devices today are powered by Open Source software, with Linux kernel being one of the forerunners. Focus of this presentation are ways how to keep these services and data safe and protected, whether we are talking about small personal devices, or large scale cloud solutions. Among other things presentation will discuss about applicability of said solutions in different scenarios.
